Excited for my Facial

Monday, November 24, 2008

I've had it with my black heads. Tomorrow I'll be scheduling for a facial treatment in Prana, with my sister and mom. I'm lucky it would be for free because I honestly don't have money anymore. I've been budgeting for my Christmas shopping and our out of town trips and I've realized I need to earn more $'s to get to my a little something for myself too.

...It may seem vain and totally unnecessary, but I think its high time for me to start taking serious care of my skin. I've never had facials or what not before because I'm afraid that too much fuss on my skin would leave it even more dry/oily/ugly. That's why I prefer the all Natural Skin Care of washing the face with a gentle soap and moisturize after. That's actually my daily regimen. Also, I eat lots of fruits and drink enough water to hydrate my skin. Especially that I live in a tropical country; its important to not keep my skin dry. Sometimes - I even forget about moisturizing!! As long as I keep my skin clean - I'm good. I've always been luckier than some - I've never had serious skin problems.

I guess it just comes with age when women like me, think about stuff like prevention of skin aging and lightening of some dark spots. I don't have anything against Botox or other much more radical skin treatments and I won't say never because we never know what happens a few from now. But for now, I think its better to stick to Natural Skin Care Products for my skin.

Organic Skin Care Products to cleanse my skin from dirt and dead skin like this one, from Astara Skin Care seems good. I would like to try using their organic AHA Nutrient Toning Essence it is perfect for all skin types. According to its site, the toning essence is infused with brightening, toning, and hydrating ingredients, following cleansing, calms, and provides the perfect preparation to receive further nutrition for the skin.

Anyway - hopefully my facial treatment tomorrow will clean my skin and then I'll start to take proper care of my skin more after that.

His "Other" Love

It is ironic, now that hubby's away we talk more than we used to. Before he used to just stay in the room, surfing the web or playing Online casinos. I used to hate him playing, now I love it. It means he's just in front of the computer and not out drinking in pubs or whatever it is they do in Norway.

Anyway he was able to grab a great deal from their company so buying the laptop was easy for him even though it cost him a bit more than if he got it here. I don't mind either way, as long as I can talk to him and view him in the webcam I'm one happy camper.

Hubby is adjusting well to his life away from us. I am just glad he has found a way to pass time without burning a huge whole in his pocket. He just goes online and plays poker! There are a lot of sites out there that offers good tables for awesome poker players like him. It's always best to check out a few choices out there before getting hooked on an Online casino since its a jungle of poker and casino websites out there, and not all are created equal. Many offer free play for real money so there's equal opportunity for everyone but as I've learned there's also a few bad apples out there so beware.

As long as he's enjoying himself with his Casinos, I am happy. It's not easy to be so far away from his family and I'm just glad my husband has sacrificed a lot for us.

Crossroads

I think its high time for me to grow up.

It has been long overdue. For the very first time I am making a CV and looking for a job. But its a secret - well its not like I am hiding this from my current employer (and father) he knows we have plans of moving to Norway; but it is not definite yet.

It has not been definite because,I just realize,I refuse to leave my comfort zone.

But last night, while tossing and turning in my bed, all alone, I realized I needed Josh to be beside me. Its not fair that he's so far away earning for us when he could not even see his own son grow up.

...Ozzy saw Josh's picture last night and he shouted, "Daddy, come home, come home!" I was awestruck that he even said that. He misses his daddy. I miss his daddy.

Besides, as much as I love to help out in the family business, I have to be honest with myself that ever since I started working for dad last September 2004, I have not been exactly happy, thus I have not been giving it my 100%. Its not fair to him at all.

He deserves someone better. So I resolve to work better for him while I am still here. Hopefully my brother can take over my job for me. Besides, its actually better for them if I'm gone they will finally have a free space in the garage and there will be no need for new carports.

Oh well..Josh's contract was revised and now it will end December 2009 instead of May 2009 thus my dilemma of staying or moving.

Tongue Piercing, what's next?

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

When it comes to my very close friends, I become like a mother sometimes. I am their go to gal and confidante. My closest gay friend, lets call him X has recently found someone. Although I am very happy for X and his new flame, I can't help but notice his change in attitude. I love X to pieces, he knows I am a jealous friend, and when I said "Don't make plans this weekend because I want us to hang out", I meant it.

X just laughed and I understood that as a "No, I am busy". Even so, I would forgive him because he's my friend and I want him to be happy, I cannot be selfish all the time. Its just that a part of me wonders what he's slowly becoming. During the first month of their so called relationship apart from the usual lying and going off to the provinces to be with the guy, what else is he not telling me? He's been on a stalking mode, jealous mode, paranoid mode and crazy mode all for this guy.

I've met the guy and he's okay...sometimes, its X who doesn't know how to handle a relationship. He gets too clingy and paranoid to the point of insanity.

I've recently learned X got his tongue pierced. Something I would never have thought he was capable of doing! When we were in College he never had the balls to have his ear pierced, now only 2 months into the relationship with this new guy he did.

Okay, okay I am being OA about this again. Its not my life but tongue piercing? What's next tattoos!? Doesn't he know tongue piercing has risks?! Oh, God, I sound like his mother don't I?

Anywayyyyyy.........I'll just see how this one plays out. X seems to like the guy too much. He's been getting into more and more trouble lately like staying out too much, ramming into a tree (he's usually a careful driver) and too much obsession over every single thing the guy does. As usual, I would condone such activities because I "want him to be happy", and truly, he deserves it. But I don't know how long I can continue to turn a blind eye when clearly - he's becoming something that we BOTH promised we'd never become - someone who would give up who they are for someone else.

Wordless Wednesday : Christmas Balls

Photobucket

We were window shopping last weekend in the nearby mall and seeing the frenzy of Christmas shoppers sent a jolt inside me. It has finally sunk in - Christmas is 35 days away. That's approximately 5 weekends for me to finish my Christmas shopping. After seeing so many pretty Christmas decoration, Christmas balls, lights and even digital signage in the mall last weekend, reminding us of the upcoming holiday, we've decided its finally time to put up our own tree in the house. Besides, how can I get into the holiday groove without the out staple family tree. (which by the way looks smaller and smaller as the years pass? why is that? my mom says because I'm getting older...huh)

Guess my entry's not too wordless after all. Still, Happy Wordless Wednesday guys, join us here.

    Coffee Break Ver 1.44

    Thursday, November 13, 2008

I find this weeks Coffee Break fitting for me because lately, I've been watching more and more reality shows.

Jan asked,"Name your top 3 "must watched" reality show?"

Gosh there are so many, so I'll list my top 3 instead.

    1. America's Next top Model - I actually love the transformation. Ordinary girls who has potential tend to shine and I am glad that Tyra (even though I find her annoying) have shows like this. Just shows a different side to the models - they are not just faces and bodies some actually have brains and a heart too. Like my idol Heidi Klum. Which brings us to my next fave reality show...

    2. Project Runway - Clothes and Fashion, my great love. Add to that mix Heidi and Tim Gunn. I just love how Tim says,"carry on!" and how Heidi says,"Neeena Garcia" lol. Don't forget the clothes! The show has pooled together really talented designers like Christian Siriano.

    Lastly, theres...

    3. Amazing Race Asia - This is an uber exciting show. Anyone who loves to travel and a good adventure will love this one. I especially like the Asian version because its where I can relate to. Of course, the only reason I started watching TARA 2 was because of Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez. Both are a total bonus to the already stellar cast(Vanessa and Pam; Paula and the Moms). Now I'm watching TARA 3, the Filipino Team Tisha Silang and Geoff are still in the race. There are 4 of them left and they will be racing for the #1 spot soon. Hope they make it all the way.

    Close to my top 3
    4. Beauty and the Geek
    5. Extreme Makeover : Home Edition

    That's it, what's yours!?

    Hip Hip - Hurray?

In my second year in college I almost joined the cheer-dance team. The reason was fairly simple, #1 the teachers would give us bonus points if we did, #2 I got to hang out with my friends more because of the practices and #3 I have an excuse to wear a cute outfit, Cheerleading Uniforms come out looking fabulous these days you know.

But the Engineering department (and the whole school for that matter) felt we needed to "save" and "be simple" so they decided (the admin) that all dancers and cheerers should wear plain white shirts! As if. So obviously, the glamour was gone for me. Plain white tee's? C'mon where's the fun in that?

Way to dampen the students cheering mood. Suffice to say, I dropped out of the team and concentrated on just plain cheering from the sidelines instead.

Online, I saw Cheerleading Apparel being sold at a reasonable amount. Cheerleadingonline.com offers a whole new and exciting range of apparel that will make the cheerleader in you say hurray! From Shoes, Pom-poms, shirts, skirt, shorts, bags even accessories, you name it - they have it.

Check out the Nike Cheerleading Shoes, it looks very nice. And I am so not into rubber shoes but I like the design of this one. Simple and classic. They carry other brands like Adidas, Reebok, Nfinity Evolution and Chasse.

Talking about college life and school life makes me miss it even more. Nope, not school work and deadlines of course, but the friendship, the classmates and the class outings. Nothing beats the freedom of college.

    High School Prom

I remember my prom being a very bitter sweet experience. Sweet because I came with a good friend, his friends was paired off with my friends, so we had a grand time. We went to Cebu's TOPS, a place where lovers go, and it was not an awkward 'date' at all. We just went out as friends and now were still friends.

I say bitter because the person I really wanted to go to the prom with can't. He was traveling with his family that time (so he says). I know for a fact he liked me but I guess it was not enough - for one I am not Chinese. It worked out okay in the end because I still ended up with a Chinese guy after all. Much cuter one I should say!

Anyway, if I could turn back time and go back to my high school prom, I would not do anything differently - well except for my prom dress which looking back - I absolutely HATE. The color was fine, but the cut and the way it was crafted was horrible! We didn't have so much money then so I had to make do with what we could afford.

Looking at the new styles out in the market right now makes me want to go back in time and wear one of the prom dresses 2009 collection! Have you seen the styles out now!? Gorgeous. Fit for a princess and that's how every girl should feel on their prom night. Like princesses going out with their prince. There are lots of available style to chose from and the prices can go for as low as $100!

    ==========
These once are designs for prom dresses Jovani for 2009. I love the play on colors and the touch of sophistication. Lets face it, high school girls are still girls and it is important to choose dresses that are appropriate with their age without being less fabulous. Jovani did a good job.
    Jovani Prom Dress1Jovani Prom Dress2Jovani Prom Dress3

    ==========

In addition to Jovani's Designs, prom dresses Clarisse designed for 2009 collection also caught my eye. They are very chic and wearable. They can be worn by all types of women and different body types.
    PromDress Clarisse1PromDress Clarisse2PromDress Clarisse3

Some of her styles are also on sale, so you can get a dress under $100. Such a bargain if you ask me.
    ==========

Check out the new styles at promgirl.net now. If I knew about this one before; I would have grabbed one right away. Oh well, I'll just hope for a little girl instead and dress her up when her prom would come.

    Pushing Daisies

    Tuesday, November 11, 2008

Having finished watching Season's 1-3 of How I Met Your Mother, I've decided to look for a new series to go gaga with. I remember a friend mentioning the series, Pushing Daisies at one time so why not?

Pushing Daisies, an ABC "dramedy" described as a "forensic fairy tale", is about a pie-maker who has the power to bring the dead back to life. The pie-maker named Ned is being played by Lee Pace whose life was governed with three basic rules.

    1. Touch once, life.
    2. Touch for the second time, death forever.
    3. Wait for more than a minute, something of similar "life value" in the vicinity drops dead.
The first episode was interesting enough to keep me wanting to check out the next one. The problem with video streaming is, sometimes it takes too long to load. I'll try to look for a DVD copy of the season 1 though.

Look at the faces of those people watching the runway show! Priceless. The model rocked it! She didn't trip or fall on her butt. Clap. Clap. Talk about going to extremes to take the show to greater heights.

Speaking of greater heights, I should remember to look for rc helicopters for Ozzy. He would definitely love that.

    Awkward Moments

    Saturday, November 8, 2008

I've been watching 'How I Met Your Mother' lately; and I've honestly grown to love the series. When it first came out on television I never really got around to watching it. Thank God for DVD's and Video Streams I was able to catch up and found myself enjoying it with my brother.

Earlier this evening we were all watching it on the living room. Me, my dad, my mom and my brother. I have forgotten exactly what episode was that but it had involved sex. Even though it was still funny, I felt really awkward.

Much like when I was younger and mom and I would watch Sex and the City together and Samantha's character is moaning like crazy - major awkward moment right there.

There are just some shows and movies that I avoid watching with my parents. Just like there are some conversations that I avoid having with the parents. I remember my brother saying he was "scared" because he was there when the topic of sex was discussed by my parents, aunts, uncles and grandma!

Glad I was not in his shoes.
