Cramps and Common Aches and Pains

Wednesday, July 29, 2009

It seems I can never get the perfect sleep these past few days. I sleep mostly on my side and have a pillow between my legs, sometimes I put up my legs and sleep on my back. However, I can't hold this position long because my back would ache from the weight of my tummy. I still do try to put my legs up to avoid cramps and to avoid my legs and feet from bloating. Unlucky for me, both my legs experienced cramps last night! All I know to ease the pain of cramps, its simple pain relief solution is to stretch your calf muscles; Straighten your leg, heel first, and gently flex your toes back toward your shins. It hurts too much at first, but I had to endure that because gradually it will ease the spasm and the pain will go away. It would have been nice though if someone can massage my leg. Since the Husband is not available and the big brother is uncooperative I would just do it myself.

Anyway, just sharing some information here that I got when browsing through websites on cramps and pain relief reviews; aches and pains are common among people especially those working in physical fields. Did you know that pain is your body’s natural defense and against illness and injury. The most common types of pain are headache, joint pains, back and neck pain. For joint pain (arthritis), some common joint pain relief would be over the counter drugs. However, there are many drugs available to ease the pain and it is best to consult your doctor first. You can also try taking supplements and milk which is high in calcium to ease the joint pains. On that note, pain caused by shingles (herpes zoster) if you didn't know is described as a painful skin rash with blisters in a limited area on the body. It is a viral disease caused by the chickenpox virus which becomes dormant. If you have a weak immune system, the virus may reawaken and manifest itself in the form of shingles. Symptoms may include headache, itching, rashes and pain.
