No Goodbye's

Hubby has left and gone back to Norway. As of writing he is somewhere up up high on the clouds heading for Frankfurt. While I don't look it, its really been hard to say goodbye. Life was way easier (with the kids) when he was here. Ozzy listened to him. While with me, he knows I am easy to convince. Hubby is firm with the kids and that is the reason why kids need their Mama and Papa - for balance. One firm hand to discipline and another gentle to comfort. But reality bites, vacation is over and now its back to regular programming. I am just glad Hubby's stay was eventful, of course - the main event was our baby's 1st birthday, plus we had a whole lot of birthday parties in-between. We were supposed to have our facial appointment set (for Hubby especially to remove acne scars) but last minute we canceled and went with our Realtor instead. She had to show us a few properties around the neighborhood that was within our budget. So there, if we do decide to get a house soon, Hubby needs to work some more. So, really, no goodbye's....I'd prefer to say, see you in 71 days. Maybe we can finally get our much needed R & R and spa day! =)

Land Trip

One of the things I enjoy doing is traveling. When I was a kid, we used to travel by land to different cities. My Father told me we will go on a trip early next year to the south of the Philippines and I couldn't be more excited. I was born there and stayed for a years in Davao. Growing up, going on land trips were the highlight of my year. While the trip was fun and exciting, I remember I hated being cramped inside the small vehicle. My siblings and I would fight because someone was taking up too much space. The trip would have been flawless if we had an rv! I can imagine it now, more leg room, stress free and comfortable travel all the way. Speaking of rv, good thing I've found a reliable rv towing service just in time for my friend who needed it. These days information is easier with the world wide web and I wouldn't want it any other way. For now, I am all over the net researching for fun spots to go to in Davao.

Doctor visit worksheet: The 12-month checkup

Going to the doctor is something I do once a month. With a toddler and a preschooler around, there are bound to be shots, ER visits and monthly checkups needed.

Here is a checklist of what to expect for a 12-month old's checkup. A tip from BabyCenter.com

  • Weigh and measure your child to make sure he's growing at a healthy, steady rate.
  • Give your child his next round of immunizations (Recommended vaccines: Hib, pneumococcal, polio (if he hasn't had the third dose yet), chicken pox (varicella), MMR, and hepatitis A (two doses between 12 and 23 months, six months apart).
  • Answer any questions you have about vitamins, if you want your child to take them.
  • Address any of your concerns about your 12-month-old's health, including how to treat colds, coughs, cuts, and bumps and falls.
  • Offer information on how (and how not) to discipline your child.
  • Make sure your child is continuing to learn new skills and not losing old ones.
  • Offer insight into your child's development, temperament, and behavior.
  • Check your child's eyesight and hearing.

Questions the doctor may ask:

  1. How does your child sleep? (Your 12-month-old may be waking up often at night. He may miss the fun and companionship of daytime and be reluctant to go back to sleep. The doctor may have helpful suggestions, especially if you can provide details on how much your child sleeps and when. Most 12-month-olds sleep a little more than 11 hours at night and just under three hours during the day.)

  2. How is your child eating? (Twelve-month-olds can feed themselves with their hands and drink from a cup. Most kids have tripled their birth weight by their first birthday. If yours is a little ahead of or behind that marker, your doctor may have suggestions for adjusting what and how much he eats.)

  3. How many teeth does your child have? (Many 12-month-olds have as many as eight teeth. Your child may suffer from red, swollen, and tender gums when his teeth are erupting, and your doctor can suggest ways to soothe them. Brush your child's teeth, using a fluoride-free toothpaste.)

  4. Is your child pulling up? Standing? Walking? (By now your child is probably an experienced cruiser and can stand on his own. He may even have taken his first steps. If not, don't worry – many children don't walk until they're 14 or 15 months old. But if your child can't bear his own weight on his legs, tell the doctor. In addition to pulling up and standing, your child should also be crawling or getting around some other way. If he's not, let the doctor know.)

  5. Does your child point at objects? (Between 9 and 12 months, most children start pointing at things that catch their attention, such as dogs and toys. It's a nonverbal way of trying to communicate with you and an important step in language development.)

  6. What does your child say? (At this age most kids can join syllables together and jabber wordlike sounds, say "mama" and "dada," and maybe say a couple of other words as well. Let the doctor know what your child understands. He should know and respond to his own name and other familiar words and show an interest in others' conversations. If he's not making any sounds or is making fewer than he was before, tell the doctor.)

  7. How are your child's social skills? (Most 1-year-olds enjoy playing games with others, including peekaboo and patty-cake. Your child will imitate everyday actions such as sweeping the floor or brushing his hair and will be exuberant and curious most of the time. He'll probably seek out interaction with familiar people but will be anxious when separated from you or around strangers.)

  8. How are your child's fine motor skills? (Twelve-month-olds like to point at things and can use both hands together when playing with objects. If your child isn't using both hands equally, tell the doctor.)

  9. Have you noticed anything unusual about your child's eyes or the way he looks at things? (At every well-baby visit, the doctor should check the structure and alignment of the eyes and your child's ability to move them correctly.)

  10. How's your child's hearing? (If your 12-month-old doesn't turn toward sounds, be sure to tell his doctor. The sooner potential hearing problems are investigated, the sooner they can be treated.)

Jacob Updates

My 1-year old can:

Walk. About a week or 2 before he turned 1; he learned to walk!!!
A tip from Babycenter.com: Encourage both cruising and walking by giving your child lots of opportunities to move without help and by not picking him up and carrying him too often. You can encourage a tentative walker by arranging furniture so there are safe and convenient handholds all along his path. Remove any dangers he might grab on to, such as a dangling tablecloth or electrical cord.

If your child is trying to toddle, he might feel more secure if he can hang on to one of your fingers, or if he puts his hands in the air and you walk behind him, holding his hands. A push toy provides walking practice, too. Just make sure it's stable and has a wide, secure base.

Two walking aids you don't need: walkers (the American Academy of Pediatrics says they're unsafe and actually discourage kids from learning to walk) and shoes in the house. Bare feet, socks, or the popular soft-bottomed "baby shoes" help a beginning walker practice balance and coordination. Reserve real shoes for protecting your toddlers' feet outdoors.

He eats solids, finger foods like biscuits and he loves apple juice.
Some foods you should avoid for a 12-month old: Low-fat milk: Most young toddlers need the fat and calories of whole milk for growth and development. Once your child turns 2 (and if he doesn't have any growth problems), you can start giving him lower-fat milk if you like. (If your child is at risk for obesity or heart disease, however, the doctor may recommend introducing low-fat milk before age 2.)

Choking hazards to watch out for

Large chunks: Pea-size pieces of food are safest — they won't get stuck in your child's throat. Vegetables like carrots, celery, and green beans should be diced, shredded, or cooked and cut up. Cut fruits like grapes, cherry tomatoes, and melon balls into quarters before serving, and shred or cut meats and cheeses into very small pieces.

Small, hard foods: Nuts, popcorn, cough drops, hard candies, raisins, and other small dried fruit and seeds are potential choking hazards.

Sticky and soft foods: Avoid chewing gum and soft foods like marshmallows and jelly candies that might get lodged in your child's throat.

Peanut butter: Be careful not to give your toddler large dollops of peanut butter, which can be difficult to swallow. Instead, spread peanut butter thinly on bread or crackers. You might want to try thinning it with some applesauce before spreading it.

More choking prevention:

•Avoid letting your child eat in the car since it's hard to supervise while driving.

•If you're using a rub-on teething medication, keep a close eye on your toddler as it can numb his throat and interfere with swallowing.
He can understand simple instructions like "no", "clap your hands" or even when I ask him to "give me something."

September came and went quickly, I have a preschooler and a toddler now. Life is good. More updates on my little pea soon. Xoxo

stock footage

Wednesday, September 22, 2010

I was having fun one afternoon surfing the net and watching videos in youtube when I saw an ad on hd stock footage, I had no idea what it meant. I was bored and curious so I researched all about it. Come to think of it, we see a lot of videos, footage's, clips and hear a lot of music online and in tv ads, but I don't know where all these come from? Independent film-makers perhaps? Are these clips expensive to make and acquire? These were my questions. I was reading about how RevoStock works and basically their site, Revostock.com offer professional stock video clips, stock music and incredible Adobe After Effects projects and after effect plugins. Ahhh, so that's where you can get inexpensive clips. There are many time we need video clips for a presentation, an ad or a home-made video so RevoStock can supply just that - and more! Plus, they over very affordable prices with high quality footage from professional independent videographers, motion graphics artists, producers and musicians from all over. Just sign-up for FREE, add credits to your account and voila, you can now download from their site! See how simple that works? It's amazing to me that this is how it works, I never knew before how to get clips or music to use in a video presentation. I thought you have to go hire your own videographers. With this site, getting footage's is easy as 1-2-3.

used cnc lathes

I took up Engineering in College and we used to do a lot of laboratory work using machinery like lathe machines. Our school is one of the oldest in the City, I think in the whole of Philippines in fact and I swear, I think the machinery in the lab came with the school as well! They are so darn old that I am scared that I'd inhale the rust forming in them. I have friends who are teachers now in my old school and I suggested they look into Used cnc machines from the site Resellcnc.com. They stock all types of Used cnc Machine Tools while focusing on metal cutting machinery. In their site, they say they have over 40 years of experience in buying and selling cnc milling machines, CNC Lathe Machines, Mazak equipment and others. As an alumni who also has kids of my own, I'd like to suggest they really invest in good quality lab and machine shop equipment to encourage the students to use the equipment and learn from them. I never once used our equipments before. I just looked on while the teacher would demonstrate because aside from being really old, we only have a few so not all can use the equipment as the same time. We are in the school to learn after all, and what good is that if we cannot use the equipment? Right?

sports events

My Husband loves anything and everything about sports. Apart from this, he also loves to bet ^_^ I don't know why this is true for guys, but most of my Hubby's friends, himself included enjoy watching sports and betting on who will win. I can't understand this but I let him be because this is what makes me happy. Just like he lets me be when I go ballistic on mall wide sales. His birthday is coming up and I have no idea what to give him just yet. I could get him some new clothes or even shoes. A shiny new gadget sounds cool too but that's too common! I want something unique. This year, I want to give him something exciting. Maybe Kentucky derby tickets would excite him? If not, then he can have Colts tickets. Whatever he would fancy is attainable now that I have discovered Sportevents.com. His number one favorite show is boxing, next would be basketball then soccer. Good thing sites like Sportevents.com offer all kinds of Sporting event tickets from all different sports events. From Super Bowl to the Masters, from Kentucky Derby to the Indianapolis 500! Woah. Sounds a whole lot of fun. This way, I can make him decide on what he would really like for his birthday.

printing

My job entails me to be jack-of-all trades. But no one is more into everything than my boss/father. The great thing about him is that he is jack of all trades and master of ALL. Apart from doing almost everything to do with our business, from technical, and sales to marketing. He personally made the brochures for our products. I was asked to proof read some of the brochures my boss had just made and had printed out. While there was nothing wrong with the brochures, my boss was talking about looking for someplace else which offers Brochure Printing at a lower cost. The printing press we have right now is out of the way and it takes time to go there. By looking for a more convenient place to have our printing needs, we can save some more. Online, I found out about My1stop.com which offers everything about custom printing - thus the name. They do postcard printing, Custom Labels printing, Plastic Business Cards and more. It's easy as 1-2-3, literally. If you want to order you just need to have your product quoted online, complete the billing and shipping info then lastly upload your artwork! See? Easy as 1-2-3. Got to tell the boss about this one.

online printing

For my baby's 1st birthday, a friend's gift for him was to make a tarpaulin layout for him and an e-invite. The tarp was great; my friend D had done an exceptional job. The colors were vivid and all. I was so excited to have it printed and used as a background this coming Saturday night. I didn't expect the Printing Service to botch the layout. The color was off, it was too dark and the oranges and yellows seemed reddish. Plus it looked pixilated! Sad. But the party must go on and I have no choice but to put up the tarp. Oh well, nothing I can about it now. It was my fault anyway. I should have gone to My1stop.com but no, I had to choose the cheaper one plus I had it rushed because I had no more time. Tsk. My advice to you out there in need of Custom Printing services, don't go just anywhere. Make sure that the printing service, may it be a store just nearby or an Online Printing service, do your research first and look around from their previous prints and customers. Get some feedback and shop around to get the greatest deal possible.

mold

Eeew. Our bathroom floor is in need of a revamp. It's long overdue. I am suspect there's mold or mildew in between the tiles already. You can see that in-between the tiles, there's already We can't have that especially since we have kids around the house! Living in a place where mold contamination is suspected can be very dangerous to our health. I've found mold test kits online from the site Immunolytics.com that can provide us with the information needed whether or not your place of employment or home is putting your health at risk. It is very vital that mold detector tests are done to evaluate the home or your very won workplace. Hubby had a close call with mold in his own workplace in Norway. They had to close down their office for days and he had to change his cubicle because when they had their mold test, it tested positive of mold that was hazardous to the health. Did you know that contamination has a strong relationship with allergies, asthma, headaches and so much more? Sometimes we take these symptoms for granted not knowing the air we breathe and the environment we live in is what makes us sick all the time. Early detection is the key, thank God for http://immunolytics.com/ and their very helpful mold test kits.

Lightning fixtures

Lately, I have been fixated with home improvement and home design. I thoroughly enjoy going to the home depot and see what I can buy to improve the look of our bedroom, bathroom or living room. From sheets to picture frames, you name 'em I've bought 'em. However, no matter how tempting it gets, I've never purchased home lighting fixtures. I guess the thought of setting it up freaks me out. As much as possible, I don't do well with anything that involves electricity. I've been using my hair curling iron for a while now and I still get burned every time! Online, I've found the perfect discount lighting fixtures. Echolightingdesign.com have so much style to choose from. They have bathroom fixtures, landscape fixtures ans so much more. Right now, my concern is to add some pendant light fixtures in our room. I also light to have additional lighting near my dresser so that I won't have a hard time when putting on my makeup. A nightlight would be a good idea too so that we can adjust the light coming in especially when putting the kids to sleep. Joshua prefers to have a bit of night light while the baby doesn't want any. Maybe a nice lamp beside the bed can do the trick too. I love shopping for our home, don't you?

comic books

Growing up, I was surrounded by books. My parents and both my siblings were voracious readers. In the family, I was the least one interested in reading. I was more into glossy fashion magazines even at an early age. I did read a few book, don't get me wrong. Among my favorites were Nancy Drew, Sweet Valley and of course comic books, most specifically in my case - Archie Comics. I remember my brother had a lot of superhero comic books like spiderman comic books, Superman and even MAD Magazine. As a kid in the 90's its cool if you have tons of comic books, nowadays I don't see kids reading paperback as much. They are more into online games, gadgets, psp, wii's, iphones and such. While these gadget are fun too, something's are just not what they are used to. Example, I encourage my kid to go out and play with the neighborhood kids, but he would rather stay inside and play the laptop. Accckk! And he's only 4. Like what my Father had said, it's cool that there's readers like kindle but there's nothing better compared to reading paperback. It's a different feeling flipping through the pages, excited to see what's on the other side.

WEb conference

The sad reality among Filipinos these days is that many families are separated because Husbands, wives and even children need to work overseas to earn a decent amount of income. Almost half of my classmates and friends are abroad. Heck, my Husband is out of the country almost all year, he only comes home on December and about half of January. He wasn't home when I gave birth to our second baby boy and now, our baby is turning one and yes, he would miss that too. Thank god for the internet, we can talk as much as we like. One time, Audio conference saved a great amount of time for use when we had to have Conference calls with my Hubby in Norway, me in Cebu and my in-laws in another City. Instead of sending emails which would require a lot of time and effort, Audio conferencing made it easier and hassle free for all of us. It's like were not that far from each other after all. Many business like my sister's BPO company make use of web conference all the time and she would tell me its such a convenient thing to have. That's why I love this generation, many things are made easy and reachable, it seems cliche but the world is truly just one click away.

In 20 Years.

Wednesday, September 15, 2010

Ackkkk. This is how I would look 20 years from now. Scary stuff huh? So anyway been reading about "how to age gracefully" when I came across the product, hgh pills. I've never heard of hgh pills until now. I've read that is HGH has been called the “fountain of youth.” The theory is, if your body can produce more HGH, you can feel younger, burn more fat, build more muscle, improve organ function, and even improve the skin! I don't know anyone who can attest to the truth of this claim though that is why I am reading up on the reviews about the best hgh pills in the market before I suggest this to my family and friends. Let's be real, who wants to look old, grey and saggy? Not me. So if there's a supplement out there that can aid in turning back the hands of time, I'll try it. Just as long as it is safe and effective then I am all for it.

Nothing Major Major.

I am one defensive driver. But maaaan when driving in the Philippines you have to arm yourself with enough courage to weave in and out of the crazy traffic and enough patience to tolerate physcho jeepney drivers and uncaring pedestrians. Add to the mix streets full of potholes and defective street lights - its enough to give stress even to the toughest drivers.

Been driving for 2 years now and I still have a LOT to learn when it comes to driving in the Philippines. Got stressed earlier while bringing my son to school. If the stress keeps up, my acne might kick in and I might be needing the help of that Epiduo™ Gel after all, but wait got to read up on that epiduo gel review first. Sometimes I wish I didn't live in a third world country, but most of the time, I love it here in the PI though. Nothing major major here, just venting out.

Glad It Wasn't Me.

What's the worse that could happen during your wedding? Check out this video.

I was laughing THEN my thoughts turned to the clumsy best-man who ruined their entire wedding day!!! If this happened to you what would do?

a.) laugh about it, it was your own fault deciding to say the vows beside the pool.
b.) forgive and forget, he didn't mean it anyway.
c.) punch the best-man in the face then call it even.
d.) cry and bawl and demand a do-over

I don't even know what I'd do. I would probably cry. Yes. Weddings are stressful enough and it only happens once!!! Still, it would be an incredible story to tell your grand kids plus you have the video to show for it!

My wedding, for me, was simple but at least it was glitch free. The only problem I had that day was I had small breakouts in my forehead. I should have used one of the best acne products especially since it was my wedding but I skipped the whole facial thing. Big mistake. The stress and sleepless nights got to me. Good thing my makeup artist was good and she did a wonderful job covering up the imperfections.^_^

My Secret.

I am not one to patronize slimming pills and such (just yet!) but I do read a few things about them for future purposes. You see, I might not need them now but sooner or later I might. So, pages with information on the best weight loss pills around is added in my feed reader. Knowing myself, I cannot live my life properly if I am overweight. I would be unhappy and insecure. But ladies beware, many young girls fall into eating disorders because they are not happy with their bodies. There is a right way to diet and the wrong way. Wrong way is to stop eating all together or vomit what you have taken in. My trick is to always eat in small portions and when eating, take time to chew and enjoy the food. This way, even though you didn't eat much you enjoy the food. Also, exercising is the way to go. Hate exercising? Me too. Try power walking around the neighborhood. Bike. Jog. Play badminton. Walk your dog. Go to the park with your kids and play Frisbee (that's what I do!). You'd be surprised, you've exercised, slimmed down and enjoyed yourself as well. And that my friends is my secret for staying under 100lbs even with 2 kids.

Not A Baby Anymore.

Today will be the last day I can call my child a baby for tomorrow, he will officially be a toddler.

Yup. 1 year has gone by just like that. I still remember the day I gave birth clearly, he was out just before 10AM weighing 6lbs 12oz. My baby Jacob whom we fondly call Shoti.^__^

He can now walk a few steps, say "mama", wave goodbye, clap hands and so much more. It still amazes me how much a person can grow in a year. He has changed from this tiny little peanut to an 8.1kgs little boy.

Here a picture of my boys!!!

"Liar!!!"

That's what I told Hubby a few days ago. He was joking around about coming home to our baby's 1st birthday this coming Thursday - I was totally fooled. Only to be pranked by him. He's actually going to some beach with his friends this weekend. It's sad that he's not here, well, he was not here when I gave birth so I guess I just better get over it and be thankful of the other blessing instead of dwelling with the negatives. Too bad for him though, I didn't tell him I've got something special planned if he did come home this month (maybe something to do with sexy adult costumes...we'll see. If not this month, then December isn't too far away...I've got more time to prepare! *Wink*

Manic Monday #222

Imagine you can only keep 5 things that you have (people not included). What 5 things would you keep?
  • House
  • Car
  • Laptop
  • Cellphone
  • Money
What's the hardest thing you've ever had to learn?
Parenting. Anything to do with taking care of a baby, of kids in general and everything that has to do with dealing with family.

Today is the first day of the rest of my life and I'm going to...
...SLEEP. A little background story,I had zero sleep last night. The baby was fussy because his teeth is erupting and its causing him discomfort. He just kept on crying, refusing to sleep, refusing to be put down, refusing to nurse. I am super cranky this morning and I was driving like a madwoman to my other son's school. This isn't the way to start a day or a lifetime for that matter. One needs at least 8-hours sleep to keep from going crazy.

Making My List, Checkin' It Twice.

Can I just crawl back to bed now?

MY Monday is so busy plus Jacob is running a fever. Last I checked, it was 38.8! @_@ Oh gosh, I really hope its nothing serious (like dengue!). His teeth are still erupting and I am hoping his slight temperature is brought on by that.

Been so busy today and I am glad - finally, I have shaken off my intense need to check on eBay every so often. The last purchase I had was some ipod accessories for Hubby. I promised myself no more online shopping until December. There are lots of expenses this month and I cannot afford my "wants" yet. There are so many things on my list of wants. To give you an idea here they are in random order.

  1. Longchamp Bag (medium long handle)
  2. Watch
  3. Nude peep-toe pumps
  4. Diamonds @_@
  5. iPhone
That's it. My December Christmas list ^__^ Do you have yours?

Stealing! Sunday Stealing: The Sunday Stealing Player's Meme

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing. Sunday Stealing originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we also have our rules. First, we always credit the blog that we stole it from and we will “fess up” to the blog owner where we stole the meme. We also provide a link to the victim's post. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") We do sometimes edit the original meme, usually to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, sometimes to select that meme's best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from either this new meme or recently asked questions from a prior featured meme. Let's go!!

Today we ripped this meme not from a blogger but from you, our players and friends. We asked for original questions last week. And did you guys deliver! We believe we’ve got everyone in the credits. If we missed you, let us know! The star players who submitted questions were: Hooting Anni, Niko, Wendy, Melanie, Ace, Bambie, Zoan, Dixie Chick, Lynette from A Blog in the Rough, The Gal, Katie, Hazel, Me, Mark from An Erie Tapestry, Mamo Ko, Cat., Noelle, Kwizgiver, Shakaku, Catch Her in the Wry, Brandt, Debster, Zh3en22, Americanising Desi and Kathy. floor removal

Dad suggested we revamp the bathroom. Our room is found in the second floor of the house and now we found water leaking from the second floor to the downstairs ceiling. Water has started to leak from the bathroom floor because the tiles are loose and should be completely redone. While I don't mind these house stuff done, I want to know how much this would cost me first. Got to make sure I could afford it. Our bathroom has concrete floors and I know concrete, cement, tiles and bathroom fixtures doesn't come in cheap. Speaking of concrete, I was looking for a concrete floor grinder for our warehouse and office. A lot of customer go in and out of there so it is vital that it looks great all the time. Nothing says professional than clean and shiny surroundings. Online, I found http://innovatechproducts.com/ which offers products like concrete grinder, tile removal and concrete polishing tools. Some polisher floor grinders are good to use especially on uneven floors like that of ours. The thing with our warehouse is that our tractor and pumps go in and out there all the time and pallet trucks and such pass by so often that the floors get the beating. For a while we really didn't notice the flooring, but now its hard to miss especially the cracks are showing. We should look into it sooner than later.

Saturday 9: Tell Her No,

Sunday, September 12, 2010

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

Saturday 9: Tell Her No

2. When was the last time you visited a hospital?
::: 2 days ago, Saturday - I brought my eldest to the Pedia to have his fever and eye infection checked. :::

3. If you were to start a club, what would the subject matter be, and what would you name it?
::: The Mommy Club, a club especially for new and young moms who need all the help & support they can get. Y'know raising a kid takes a village. :::

4. Have you ever hit someone of the opposite sex?
::: "Hit" as in "hurt/slapped"? Yeah =D :::

5. What's the first thing you notice about the preferred sex?
::: The way they dress. :::

6. What really turns you on?
::: Lively, witty personality. :::

7. What was your biggest mistake?
::: Nothing major major, I guess getting pregnant before marriage but I do not regret getting pregnant. I love being a mom & parent. :::

8. Tell us something totally random about yourself.
::: I am a Taurean. :::

9. Has anyone ever said you looked like a celebrity?
::: Nope. :::

Thanks so much for joining us again at Saturday: 9. As always, feel free to come back, see who has participated and comment on their posts. In fact sometimes, if you want to read & comment on everyone's responses, you might want to check back again tomorrow. But it is not a rule. We haven’t any rules here. Join us on next Saturday for another version of Saturday: 9, "Just A Silly Meme on a Saturday!" Enjoy your weekend!

lawyers

Most of my peers are in medical field as nurses. Only a few of us are engineers and even fewer are lawyers. Five to be exact. All of them graduated and passed the board exam recently and our batch couldn't be any more proud of them. I for one can never ever be a lawyer. Reading and memorizing plus understanding laws and its loop holes isn't my cup of tea. I asked one of my Atty friends and she said she wants to be a divorce lawyer. We laughed about it and I told her I'd put her on my speed dial just in case. Seriously, ever since she wanted to be a criminal attorney but judging from the justice system (or lack thereof) of this country its better for her to focus on a different route. Speaking of lawyers, have you heard, Paris Hilton is at it again. She has been arrested and this time for felony drug charges for cocaine possession. I hope she has a good lawyer because like Lindsay, she may go to jail. Just as well because these Hollywood celebrities need to learn their lesson. So, if you are looking for a lawyer for your DUI charges, I heard good reviews about denver dui attorney's. If you have a criminal defense case other than DUI, denver criminal defense attorneys can help. With over 20 years of combined legal experience and client representation including hundreds of trials, defense attorneys Keith Fuicelli and John Lee are prepared to work for you. In my case, I may not use their services (and hopefully I never will) but just the same hope the information helps!

oregano

In this day and age wherein people have grown conscious of what they put in their body, countless number of products have come out of the market promising health and wellness. But, which of these products actually work? And the more pressing question is - Are they even safe? Online, I have read a lot of stuff about Oregano Oil and the benefits it has for our well being. Studies say that its benefits include, strengthening in the immune system, increases joint and muscle flexibility just to name a few. But wait, don't confuse common common oregano that is used as a spice for cooking from Oil of Oregano. Common oregano is typically Origanum Marjoram, while Oil of Oregano is derived from Origanum Vulgare. The Oregano oil is a highly potent purifier with 2 key compounds found in it are carvacrol and thymol. The great thing is, this is all natural and it can manage acne, allergies, arthritis, asthma, athlete's foot, candida, constipation, croup, digestive disturbances, insect bites, bronchitis, canker sores, colds, flu, earaches, fatigue, gum disease, headaches, menstrual irregularities, muscle pain, parasites, pneumonia, psoriasis, toenail fungus, toothache, seborrhea, staph & strep infection, strep (sore) throat, ringworm, rosacea, sinusitis, and warts. Whew! That's a LOT for something that is low cost! Check it out.

"This has got to be the hottest summer yet!", exclaimed a friend's status in the popular networking site, Facebook a few months back. She lives in New York now and she is used to very hot temperatures, having lived in the Philippines most of her life. However, this summer is exceptionally H-O-T. With temperatures reaching over 90 degrees last July, she felt it was just severe. I could only nod and hope for the best. We too experienced extreme hot weather last summer. Our air conditioner had conked out a few times then. I wish I had not waited for it to happen, a regular cleaning and checkup will make the unit run smoother and faster. Not to mention, it will save us some electricity. I had called a local repair guy, but if we had Arizona air conditioning service I'd call them. They offer air conditioning repair and installation services in the Phoenix, AZ Metro area including Scottsdale, AZ. I have read good reviews about Arizona air conditioning so I told my friend about it. Maybe, since Winter is fast approaching, she can also make use of their heating services. Arizona heating and cooling services come at a very reasonable price. Anyway, times like these when the weather is brutal, I think that Mother Nature is punishing us for destroying her. Just yesterday, I heard about the volcano who erupted. That volcano hasn't erupted in 400 years. Now, she's angry, spewing ashes and thick smoke in the air. That's why I vow to do my part in being clean and green. No more unnecessary garbage. No more power wastage. I will stop using plastic when buying the groceries too. Anything to do my part.

What's the main thing that builds your self-confidence and why?
When I get compliments I guess, especially with the kids ^-^. It is a great ego booster when people see that you are doing a great job as a parent.

What lessons in humility have you learned over the course of your life?
Once you start working, you realize there are others better than you. Just learn when to speak up otherwise just shut-up.o_0

How do you combat negative thoughts?
Retail Therapy.

used cellphones

Monday, September 6, 2010

I love my phone, yes I do. Truly. However, right this very second I want to trade it in with something else. Even used cell phones sound just about as good right now. Anything that does not HANG. Argg. Something IS wrong with my Samsung Omnia 2's software. I swear. I had this reformatted a month ago which really made the situation a bit better. Apart from the sleeker design, it would still actually hang. Great, not only did I lose my contacts thru the process, I lost my saved data as well. And now, I ended up with a phone that still hangs (in fairness, it hangs a bit this time unlike before) and which still can't video stream. Boohoo. Anyway, while I am online, I've looked into used verizon phones and I can't help at awe. I've always loved Treo. I had that unit before my Omnia and I never had any problems with it. There are also used t mobile phones, HTC Dash, Blackberry 8220 Pearl Flip, Sidekick and Motorola Sidekick Slide to name a few which are very tempting phones. But what I really want is an iPhone. Even a 3GS iPhone is good enough for me. The iPhone4 is really a bit expensive for my budget. I wonder what Hubby feels about this? He recently bought an iPhone 3GS for himself...maybe he can spare some cash for mine???

5 Traditional Bathrooms with Timeless Style

Pictures and text from my newest fave site! http://www.housebeautiful.com/

DARK & GLAMOROUS

For a glamorous Manhattan apartment, designer David Kleinberg chose to continue a brass theme into the guest bathroom using a bronze-and-marble vanity. The walls are painted a deep brown to make the small bath appear larger.

WALLPAPERED BATH

Designer Alex Papachristidis decorated this newly built house on Long Island Sound in Greenwich, Connecticut with just a hint of pattern. In the master bath, a classic tub by Waterworks. Chinoiserie wallpaper is Nostell Priory by Zoffany.

LONG ISLAND MASTER BATH

For a traditional style Long Island home, designer David Kleinberg chose a sink stand based on a French iron console as the focal point of the master bath.

TRADITIONAL WARMTH & LUXURY

Bobby McAlpine and Susan Ferrier designed this beach house with traditional style, maintaining richness and color throughout. The master bath features a symmetrical looking console, with two bowl sinks by Duravit.

BLACK & WHITE

Stephen Shubel designed this home in San Francisco with classic but bold style. The black-and-white striped master bath features traditional elements and fixtures, despite the bold color choice.

Which one for our bathroom!? Hmmm..for these choices I love the first one, dark & glamorous.^-^ So me! =D
