I Need Glasses.

Saturday, February 26, 2011

I woke up today with a throbbing headache. It has been this way for about 5 days now. I know what I need to do. However, I seem to be putting it off.

Yeah, well, I need glasses. I tried my sister's glasses which had a grade of 75 and it make me see a LOT better. So my grade would definitely be 75 or up. Oh my..

So here I am on a beautiful Saturday morning holed up in my room researching about adapexin-p while searching for eyeglass frames which may look good for the shape of my face. I promised myself I'd buy the glasses later this afternoon. We'll see. If I don't feel lazy anymore. This week has been a really lazy week for me. I'd rather stay inside the room than go do something which is different for me who has always preferred to keep things moving. Sign of old age? Could be.

Worth A Visit.

Friday, February 25, 2011

Just in time! Earlier, I was looking for any great product for my wrinkles and age spots, good thing I stumbled into these anti aging product reviews and it gave me a detailed review on the best and worse products out there. They tell you which product gives great value to your money. They can also help you find the right one for YOU depending on ingredient, effectiveness, safety, price and more. You can read articles and reviews regarding the products plus they give each product a rating which will give you an idea which is the best one in the market right now. Perfect for me right now. I'm glad I stumbled upon this site.

What A Day.

As much as possible, I try to be nice to everyone I get to talk to over the phone. However, push the wrong buttons and I'll go physcho on you. Maybe I'm just not having the best day, with the headache and one week of no internet - it made me really cranky. I swear I developed new set of wrinkles today because of the stress. You see, I talked to this rude, really stupid, customer rep earlier. He ruined my day.

I don't want to think about it anymore. Negative thoughts attract negative energy which I don't like. Besides, I don't have an anti wrinkle cream to battle the wrinkles. I hope to buy a good product over the weekend though, any suggestions?

Forced Into A Diet

Thursday, February 24, 2011

All the diet pills in the world couldn't compare to my diet secret right now. No, I am not starving myself to death but then again, I am limited to eating soup. I have no appetite and even if I do - I lose the urge to eat because of my stupid mouth sores. It all started when I was too greedy.

Gluttony is a sin and now I am paying for it dearly with forced diet.

A few days back, we had a party for my granma who turned 94. We had crabs! I ate a whole lot fast and I don't know what happened, my chewing skills failed me and I was able to bite into my lips 2x! Now, the mouth sores are killing me. Opening my mouth even to speak is a challenge.

I wonder if I lost weight? Well, in 2 days I'd be better and I am pretty sure I'd gain all the weight back. Taking diet pills isn't such a bad idea after all.

Foods That Burn Fat

If I'd known sooner that there are foods that "burn" fat then I would have eaten healthy quantities of them a day!

Remember these because these fat burning foods because they can help you burn those wretched fats we girls hate so much.

1. Cayenne Pepper
2. Ginger
3. Cinnamon
4. Apples and Berries
5. Citrus Fruits
6. Soybeans
7. Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs)
8. Garlic
9. Seaweed
10. Green Tea

Unfortunately because of my hyper-acidity, I cannot take so much citrus fruits and green tea. I can, however, gorge on apples. I love apples so there's no problem. Ginger I love as well, it is also good for cough.

But remember, there foods are not magic food, they don't burn fat on their own, instead they aid in burning it faster. Diet and exercise should still be maintained. That, my dear friends, is something I will be working on. ;)

Rest Day.

No work today and tomorrow! Yippee ;)) It's Cebu City Charter day today and tomorrow is EDSA anniversary.

Finally, I can relax, take it easy and recover from our recent trip. It seems to me, every time we travel I get sick. Maybe because I don't get a break from taking care of the kids + the stress of traveling.

But - I think I spoke too soon. The phone has been ringing. There are emails to attend to and work to be finished. So, maybe I will work this morning. But this afternoon - I shall rest and of course try Facebook ;) I am on dial up mode but that wouldn't stop me from logging on. There's this site I'm looking into for inspiration, they make unique photo gifts, and I'd like to see ideas on how I'd frame our family pictures. I've been procrastinating as usual and the pictures are just lying there waiting to find their places.

So now, back to work. Bye!

The One.

Praise the Lord.

Has it been 2 years really? We have finally finished paying off our lot and it feels so good. Right now, Hubby and I are thinking of investing in another lot perhaps in the city or if not, maybe in a townhouse.

There a surprisingly a lot to choose from with prices that go from 3M upwards. The problem is finding the right one.

So, the search begins.

Changes.

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

I am losing my mind trying to look for the perfect jobs that fit me. I am currently scoping the net for possible work in Norway. Months away from hubby for most of the year has taken its toll on me.

I just know - for our relationship - we should move there if his job is there. At first, it wasn't an option since his work is on project basis, but it has been 3 years already and he can apply for a PR which means, he might be staying there longer.

This is going to be a gamble. New City. New friends. New work. A definite change in my life.

But fist, got to find the perfect job. Wish me luck.

AM

ON

DIAL UP

And it sucks!!! It is too darn slow. But what the heck, better than nothing right? I don't even want to remember life before broadband internet. Ack. Our connections has been gone since Saturday and I am feeling depressed. Work has been stalled and there are tons of emails left unread.

I just had to rant.

Okay, back to downloading my messages 1 kb at a time.

Info On Lymphedema.

Thursday, February 17, 2011

What do you know about Lymphedema? All I know about it is that also known as lymphatic obstruction, is a condition of localized fluid retention and tissue swelling caused by a compromised lymphatic system. Personally, I don't know anyone with this disease. Do you? Anyway, lymphedema can be an inherited disease or can be caused by injury to the lymphatic vessels. So, what can you do if you have one?

Depends....depends on the severity of the edema and the degree of fibrosis of the affected limb. Most people undergo treatment plus they have to wear compression garments. This is because, compression stockings would maintain the edema reduction. These garments are worn may be custom-fit or purchased in over-the-counter, standard sizes. It's meant to be worn every day to maintain edema reduction and must be replaced on a regular basis.

Hope this info is helpful.

What Phobia Are You?

You Are Mysophobia

You are the fear of germs or dirt.

It's easily for you to get grossed out or freaked out. You especially can't stand other people's messes.

You are a bit of an obsessive compulsive type. It bothers you to see things out of order.

You only feel comfortable when you are in charge. You admit that you are a control freak.

Wake Up Call.

Thursday, February 10, 2011

How tragic ;( I know someone (my age!!!) with stage 4 Cancer. Leukemia if I'm not mistaken.

I kind of thought that people my age can't get sick! Well, I know that's a stupid thing to think but then when you're in your 20's even 30's you tend to believe that's you're invisible. No one can harm you (yet). You're in the peak of your life and bam!!! = illness. In my case, I have crystals in my right kidney, suddenly, I can't enjoy eating my favorite food anymore. No more coffee, no more soda, no more iced-tea, no more chocolates! ;( My doctor said, one of the reasons why I may have crystals in my kidney is because of too much iced-tea. Iced-tea apparently contains high concentrations of oxalate. Oxalate is believed to be a key ingredient for formation of kidney stones, a common disorder of the urinary tract that affects about 10% of the population in the United States. OMG. I wish I knew that before chugging down countless bottomless iced-tea drinks which is served in restos.

This reminds me of the deadly disease of Mesothelioma. The known cause for this cancer is exposure to asbestos. Many who has been exposed in the workplace don't even have any idea they've been exposed! In this case, you can sue. Then again, I can't sue iced-tea.

If I knew that iced-tea was super bad for my kidney, I would have not drank it too much. But no one can be blamed but me. Right now, I am in water therapy. Yes, I am still young but taking care of my body is a priority especially with 2 kids around. Hearing about my friend with the big C is a wake up call.

Getting Bored

Arggg. 2 of my favorite meme's has closed down. I don't know why, but blogging isn't the same as it used to. Well, I'm just speaking for myself here. I love blogging but my heart isn't in it anymore. Having 2 kids + working at the same time has overtaken my life. Blogging will have to take a back seat for now.

Of course, I'd still be blogging from time to time, but not as much as before. Heck, I didn't even try to revive my other blog Ozzy's Mom! That only means, I couldn't care less really. Yes, the sideline income will suffer but then again, I'd just have to stop online shopping if that's the case.

My BFF's Wedding

Exciting!

Someone's getting married. The date, church, reception has not been decided just yet but me and my friends are talking about what to wear already. My gay friend has even volunteered to check out options and colors for the mens ties.

Planning a wedding is a stressful thing but it can be done with flying colors when friends help out. We've already volunteered to help her out since she and her fiance are in Singapore and the wedding will take place in Cebu. Can't wait to get this thing together!

My Thoughts Jumbled Up.

Monday, February 7, 2011

I am feeling off today.

Maybe it's because of the super gloomy weather. I cannot even get my thoughts straight. I also kind of miss my long hair. Oh well. Anyway, many of my friends are thinking of going to Singapore for work. I guess the thought is making me sad. More and more people I love are leaving the country! Might as well leave the country as well and go to Norway with Hubby....

Got to start looking for a job then.

Well, later. ;) For now, I still have to look for a reliable auto repair shop for the car. There's something wrong with the gear, sometimes it gets stuck - Dad says maybe it's because of the synchronizer. Stop-and-Go driving is the reason for the wear and tear, I've read. I love my Toyota, but sometimes I wonder if cars like Mazda or a Honda Civic is better. Honda is known for its reliable parts and service. If you live around California, Los Angeles auto repair is just around the corner. For example you have to have the head gasket replaced, no problem which is good news if you have only one car and no other way to going around.

Which made me think - we cannot relocate to Norway until we have our own car there. Doing the chores and going to and from work and school isn't possible with the 2 kids around.

6 mistakes men make on Valentine's Day

Thursday, February 3, 2011

A repost from yahoo article

Mistake #1: Getting words of wisdom from your local drug store.
There's a time and a place for Hallmark poetry and it's never on Valentine's Day. No matter how cursive, heartfelt, and close-to-home the text, you still didn't write it.
Why it’s bad: Women want to feel special. Giving a card that’s designed to cater to millions of women on Valentine’s Day sends the message that your love is a lot like everyone else's. It also suggests you bought some Rite Guard in the next aisle while you were at it. Nobody wants to feel like one of two birds.
The fix: Cliché as it seems, the thought really does count. More than 75 percent of women claim to want nothing more than a heart-felt love letter on February 14. Relationship psychologist Dr. Terri Orbuch also suggests a personal note trumps even chocolate. "Which says 'I love you' more: a box of candy or a handwritten note telling your partner you'd still choose him/her if you had to do it all over again?" asks Orbuch. "Show your partner why he/she matters so much to you."

Mistake #2: Letting a bear do your bidding.
Stuffed animal tricks are for kids. Giving your special lady a teddy bear holding a balloon with a pun like "I Yearn Fur You" is sweet if you're both in junior high. But in a poll by ShopRunner, a women's shopping site, members claimed teddy bears were the worst gift they had ever received on February 14. Flowers and chocolates (standard accompaniments to the stuffed animal) aren't going to win her over either.
Why it's bad: A stuffed animal not only suggests you don't take your partner seriously, it's also generic. Flowers, candy, and anything that's stamped "buy this for Valentine's Day" suggests limited thought went into the gift.
The fix: Don't run to your nearest jeweler. It's not about the money—besides, a dozen roses and a build-a-bear don't come cheap. "In fact, depending on where a couple is in their relationship, extravagant gifts like expensive lingerie or fancy chocolates can seem overwhelming," author and etiquette expert Leah Ingram tells Bankrate.com. "If you've just started dating, a big gift can imply more depth to the relationship than is really there. It can also be awkward if the guy splurges on a big Valentine's gift, but the woman doesn't do the same." Instead, find a simple gift that shows you've been listening to your lady, like a DVD of her favorite series, or a book by an author she's mentioned. Dr. Orbuch has a more direct approach: "Think of something your partner really needs," she says. "Get the car detailed. Replace her tattered briefcase. It may not sound romantic, but thoughtfulness is a turn-on and shows you really care about your partner."

Mistake #3: Declaring Valentine’s Day a ploy for consumers

No matter how you rationalize it, the holiday is not going away. Even if your partner trumps your own disdain for the day, the risk of going along with her is too great.
Why it’s bad: It feels like an excuse. Despite all the arguments against the day, it comes down to celebrating your relationship. “In the larger picture, cultural rituals like Valentine’s Day structure opportunities to do good things that we could do any day, but usually do not,” writes social scientist Bill Doherty in Psychology Today. “The year I took my wife to Subway on February 14 was the low point. Eventually I realized that the cost of minimizing Valentine’s Day—the disappointment and the missed opportunity to connect—is greater than the benefits of maintaining my freedom to be spontaneously romantic on my own timetable.”
The fix: If if really pains you to observe the date, celebrate your valentine the day before. You can also keep it low-key. Dinner is optional. The most important thing is to set aside time to talk about things that aren't "important." "Have a 10-minute conversation with your partner about anything besides kids, work, money, or domestic responsibilities," says Orbuch. "I found that the '10 Minute Rule,' practiced daily, increases intimacy, bonding, and happiness." Take a drive or rent the movie you watched on your first date: external triggers that don't cause stress can help take you back to the way you were before your everyday lives trumped romance.

Mistake #4: Sharing the day with your BlackBerry
One in five guys will text their loving message on Valentine’s Day and one in ten will take to email. That doesn't even factor Facebook and Twitter professions of love. As sweet as 140 characters can be, old-school letters are more romantic. One survey found the obvious: women would be disappointed by an electronic gesture of affection.
Why it’s bad: In terms of effort, it’s minimal. It also brings a third party into your affair: your P.D.A. (your Personal Digital Assistant, not public displays of affection). It should be a given to turn it off during your candlelit dinner, but using it to profess love is detached.
The fix: Buy a blank card or take a photo of the two of you and write a message on the back. It doesn't have to be long, it can even be a quote from your favorite song. But in this technological world, handwriting holds a certain intimacy. If words just aren't your thing, make a mix CD and write out the songs in pen. Your music choices will do the talking.

Mistake #5: Expecting her to make the plans
In the United States, 64 percent of men do not make V-day plans in advance. That can be a problem when at least 30 percent of women expect guys to map out the entire evening, according to Women's Health. Who's right? Who cares. To avoid conflict, just make a plan.
Why it’s bad: Making plans is a sign of commitment, even if they're not exactly what your partner had in mind. The task of putting forethought into your time together suggests you see a future together. It may sound like a leap, but on Valentine's Day, it's nothing to take lightly.
The fix: Even if you’re strapped for cash or shut out from overbooked restaurants on what might be the busiest day for reservations, there's still hope. Preparing a meal she’ll love or simply plating a prepared meal on a candle-lit table will do the job. Providing dessert and a little wine will suggest you’ve really put thought into the night, even if you just went to the supermarket.

Mistake #6: Under-dressing
Don't wear jeans. No matter how well they fit, denims are not invited to your romantic evening for two.
Why it's bad: It suggests the day isn't as important to you as it it may be to her. Plus, getting a little dressed up adds an element of excitement that breaks the casual routine you may share on a standard date night. And excitement boosts oxytocin, the bonding hormone released during new, exciting activities that brings couples together.
The fix: Whether you're staying in or partying like a rock star, let Daniel Craig, aka James Bond, be your style muse, says men's fashion site Dappered. For a night in, try casual khakis and a crisp white shirt, like Craig wore during a scene in an Italian villa in "Quantum of Solace." For a red carpet look, try a skinny tie, or a slim-lined gray suit, like Craig has donned at premieres.

Weather Weather

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

The weather is dreary! ;( It's always raining. It's always wet. Floods in some areas and of course, traffic everywhere. I don't mind the cold very much because I get to wear my jackets and scarves. However, the wet weather is my bane. I don't like to have my feet dirty and wet. The car hasn't been washed for eons and garage is dirty too.

The worse part is, I am sick with cough & colds. The kids are sick too. The virus just keeps going around the household. Me, the baby, Joshua, the nanny's etc.

...Work is fine though, not too busy as much. The one thing that's keeping me busy is the work done around the house. There are materials to be brought and men to be paid. So much for saving to buy gold coins. My savings and hubby's are all on the renovation of our cr and flooring. The molds were bothersome not to mention, a health hazard!!!

I wonder if my allergic rhinitis and runny nose is caused by the molds? Tsk. I hope not. That's a scary thought.
