Turn Back Time

Wednesday, March 30, 2011

I usually have good skin. In fact my friends envy me for it. Lately though because of the stress with the kids and lack of sleep I've noticed noticeable wrinkles and even the occasional acne. I use a lot of creams and eye creams for the wrinkles but I don't use anything for the acne. I my head, I am thinking that they will just naturally go away in a few days. However, I've been having these small acne on my forehead and it has been days and it has not let up yet. Maybe it's because my period has been erratic these past few months...I am not really sure. But I've been reading a lot about Acneticin and maybe it is a good idea to try it. Well, maybe. I've got a big dinner with high school friends next week and I really want to look my best. Hope it does the trick and turn back time where my skin was flawless!

Prom Season

Monday, March 28, 2011

I didn't realize it was prom season not until I overheard some high school girls giggling about it. As annoying as they sound, I kinda have to agree to what they were talking about. They were concerned over the lack of choices when it comes to off-the rack selection for prom dresses. I overheard one panicking girl say that her Mom won't allow her to have a dress made for her because it will be too expensive so buying off the rack or renting out a gown was her only option. The problem is of course, this young teen does not anything that's "off the rack" let alone something 'rented'. I remember back in the day, the JS Prom was the highlight of my high school life. So, of course, I only wanted the very best. Unfortunately, I hated my dress. I hated my makeup. If I could do it all over again, I will. It seems to me these days, there are more choices in the dresses. You can buy online, buy in a store off the rack but it will still look spectacular! Plus, there are many different kids! From classic chic to glam even rocker chic. So cool. I would have loved to wear this one on the left.

Send-off Gift.

Another friend is saying goodbye. He will be moving to SG to pursue a career there. Thank God for appareils photo numériques (digital cameras) and soft copies of pics, we were able to put together a collage (in one day!!!) to make a picture puzzle for Ebbe.

He looks like he loves our gift.^_^

Singapore is 3 hours away. That's actually very near. There's always piso fare going on, so the fare isn't the issue. It's the time!!! It seems everyone is busy with their own loves that we cannot seem to find the time to come together. Scheduling a birthday dinner alone is a pain. There's always 1 or 2 that's absent. College was a fun time for me. Me and my friends may not be in the same zip code for now but they are treasured in my heart forever.

In case you wanna see the layout for Ebbe. Here it is. ANTM's next top model. LOL
It's never goodbye, see you soon Eb ;)

Weather Madness

Friday, March 25, 2011

Summer is around the corner and it's undeniable because of the heat all over the metro. The weird thing is, during the late afternoon , it would start to rain. First it gets really muggy then at around 5PM the weather starts to change.

I hate it when it does that.

You don't know whether to wear short shorts or wear a jacket.

This morning I had to accompany my lil brother to get his license. It was raining so I wore a long-sleeved blouse. A few minutes after we got out of the house - the sun started to shine. It was so hot that the car over-heated. Bummer. I hate this day.

Lovely Scrubs

Thursday, March 17, 2011

I can't start the day without my daily dose of sugar high. Luckily for me (unfortunately for my diet) - we have a whole bunch of chocolates to choose from. Twix, Milky Way, Snickers, M&M's and a bunch more! ^__^ Don't you just adore Duty Free shopping? We only get to shop there when a family member or a friend goes abroad. Which it too bad. Speaking of going abroad, my nursing friends from abroad have been raving about this one site which has a great selection of nursing scrubs just for everyone. A lot of my friends here are looking new and different styles. Something that will look good, feel comfortable even if worn for over 8 hours.

So, where can nurses or medical practitioners buy cheap scrubs? There are a lot of sites out there all over the internet, the one that stood out when I did a search was blueskyscrubs.com because it had a whole lot of choices at a very affordable rate. They don't only sell scrubs, they also have hats, jackets, accessories, tops and lab coats.

This is actually a cute top. The color is so pretty, it goes well with my very own glasses. I love purple. But no matter how much I love my glasses, I hate looking at myself with them. I am thinking of getting contacts. But what color!? Mmmmmmm. So back to the topic, if you are a medical practitioner and is looking for cute and functional scrub tops then go ahead and visit this site. I am sure you'll find whatever it is you need.

Little Paleontologist

Thursday, March 10, 2011

"Hi I am Joshua, when I grow up I want to be a Paleontologist."

Tomorrow is Joshua's last day in school. Their last day will be celebrated thru "Pretend Day". The kids are asked to dress up like what they want to be when they grow up. I asked the other parents, some of their kids would like to Doctors, Pilots, Race Car drivers and Firefighters. Mine? Paleontologist.

My first reaction? OMG. What will he wear? Something like this I guess.

The second thing that crossed my mind - can he even pronounce that when the time comes they will present it in school?

Tomorrow, we'll see.

Ceiling Fans.

Feeling hot?

Suffer no more. Cebu's temperature often runs around the high 20's and low 30's (Celsius), that's no fun if you don't have an air-conditioner or an electric fan at least. Our bedroom's ceiling fan broke down and I looked up "ceiling fan" online, I was directed to Minka Aire. They really have pretty ceiling fans from modern to contemporary in different sizes. The beautiful part is Minka Aire ceiling fans does not act as fans, but also as a light. I noticed that their fans have a sleek design whether it is contemporary, traditional or transitional ceiling fan, that they look good even after years or use. Just don't abuse it of course. Keep it clean and dust-free.

Check them out.

Expenses. Bills and More.

Our bed and mattress is fairly new. I bought it a few months before little Jacob was born. The size is perfect for us. The bed is fab. It's doing it's job. The thing is, I didn't expect the mattress to be smelly, full of stain and lumpy this fast.

Did I mention a 4-year old and a 1-year old sleeps there?

No? Well. That explains it. I didn't realize it the, though. My 1-year old constantly pukes. A little cough here, he'll barf everything he had for dinner. One time, we were lying down, he coughed and when I was about to pick him up, he puked on my face and hair. The puke was all over the bed, it was all over the sheets, blanket, pillows and all over me. ;((

Do I need a new mattress? Yes. Will I get one soon? Maybe. Too many expenses here and there. Bills. Will they ever end?

Wouldn't It Be Nice.

Thursday, March 3, 2011

A few years ago, I wished for smaller breasts. Wouldn't it be nice to go from a B-cup to an A-cup?

I got my wish. After having stopped breastfeeding my 2nd baby after 1 year those things shrank. I am actually happy with my new smaller pair. I don't understand other women (and men's) fascination with big breasts though. They are heavy and they make you look fat in some clothes. However, while I do like the size; I don't like the shape. Age and the 2 pregnancies have taken it's toll. I'll be honest, I've thought about breast augmentation once or twice already within the span of 6 months. Not to make it really big but to make it firm and perky as before. That, and of course, liposuction. We see ads everywhere of women, even after having kids - they look perfect! The insecurity creeps up and no matter how much I diet and try to exercise the excess fats around the tummy and the sagging breasts are still there. The thing is going under the knife has it's risks. Risks are subjective to everyone so make sure to talk to your medical practitioner about your medical history. I may not go under the knife right now or in the next 2 years but ask me again when I'm 30.

Plans.

Everybody whose anybody has been, at one point in their life, to Boracay.

I haven't. My Hubby hasn't. So, were planning a trip this July. But of course, that would depend if he could come home for a short vacation. I really hope he can come home.

We're thinking about staying at Willy's.

The price is reasonable, it is right in front of the beach and it is near the happening places in the Island. What's more is that they have a jacuzzi! I don't see any hot tub cover's in the pic, so I am guessing this is indoors. Jacuzzi the your own room, isn't that just awesome. I'm crossing my fingers here, this trip has hit a snag many times already.

Any other suggestions for accommodations?

Life Insure.

What is the best medicine for cough? It's weird how I always start coughing whenever we're about to sleep. I drink warm water and at times I drink meds, however I don't think the cough is because of a virus. It is more like an allergic cough and it's weird because I never had this before. I was perfectly healthy up until I started having kids. My eyes deteriorated, I'm having stomach and kidney problems plus I get tired easily. I always promise Hubby that I'd stay up late to wait for him come home from work but I seldom make it to 10PM let alone 12MN! What's wrong with me? 27 isn't that old right? But why do I feel like I am already in my 30's? That statement made me think though, I should look over those whole life insurance offers from my agent. I've been putting them off thinking I don't really it just now, but then again, I am not getting any younger and by the looks of it, I may be needing those sooner than later.

Forever 21.

Okay, so my birthday is coming up. Usually during my birthdays, I would feel blue. That could be remedied easily, 2-words = blue diamonds. *hint-hint*

Seriously, I would contemplate about life, ponder what I did wrong, what I have accomplished and assess what I want to achieve. I am turning 28 this year, no longer a child - a grown mature woman I suppose. Well, we all have our true age and our inner age. My inner age is 21. I guess that's because during that time in my life, I knew what I wanted. I was not afraid to go for the things I like and ALSO - I met my Husband during that time. It was one of the best times of my life.

Four Eyes

Wednesday, March 2, 2011

That's me.

I am still getting to know my glasses. My head still throbs whenever I use it for an extended periods of time. Nope, I won't post my picture here. I really am not loving the four-eyed look (just yet). Even before the glasses, people would tell me I look like my mom - now I think I believe them. Not that there's anything wrong with that of course, it's just that I feel old.;P The meds and all the illnesses coming my way doesn't help. It reminds me everyday that I am not getting any younger.

I miss being in HS. But then again, I hear teenagers talking and I think to myself - thank GOD I am not that annoying anymore.
