Age Spots Begone!

Friday, May 27, 2011

In about 5 weeks or so, Hubby and I will be reunited once again. The last time we saw each other he had commented how my skin had developed age spots. I immediately researched on how to get rid of age spots!!! I can't believe that someone - a guy for that matter - noticed the spots on my skin. I regularly have my facials but then I never wear any sunscreen. So, of course, that has caught up with me and now I am paying for it. Literally.

I have bought tons of products, day moisturizer with SPF, night cream repair, eye cream, toner and facial wash. They didn't come cheap! Plus, I have to replenish my stock every so often. I hope by the time we see each other in July he can see the difference. I've looked in the mirror lately and sadly, the age spots are still here. A bit faint but they are still visible when I go out sans makeup. So here I am searching for the best product out there and hope that the spots would vanish in time.

Protected.

I have a high tolerance for pain. So it came as a shock to me when I really felt the pain of my 3rd shot for the cervical vaccine.

Now, 4 hours later, my left arm feels weak and in pain. I can move it, but it is uncomfortable to raise my arm more than 45 degrees.

Ouchie =( How the heck can I enjoy the beach this weekend? Hopefully this will pass by tomorrow. But, on a positive note, I am protected against the human papillomavirus virus associated with the development of cervical cancer, genital warts, and some less common cancers.

People are constantly coming in and out of my life. Friends and family go abroad, work in a different city or move away. As much as I would have loved for all my loved one's to stay here in Cebu forever, I can't ask them to do that. My good friend, crazy D has resigned from her work from Cavite and came back to Cebu. I was ecstatic. But then, she will transfer to SG after all. She wants to find a job there - maybe pursue an FA career or go back to being an engineer. Her main way of looking for a job is thru online sites. She sifts through hundreds of job openings everyday, some are management jobs, others are for engineering and even for web design (her secret love). I do wish her well; I want her to find a career she loves, but I wish she didn't have to go far away to look for one. Oh well. Life. My hubby is in Norway for pete's sake!:( I miss him more and more everyday. If money wasn't as hard to earn here in the PI then he wouldn't have to go. Good news though, we'll be seeing him in 6 weeks!!! I didn't realize it was this soon up until I checked the calendar. Like I said, people come and go. I hate to sya goodbye, so I'd just say, see you soon crazy D. Most importantly, see you soon Chi.

eBooks, I Love.

I am going crazy over ebooks. Lately, my twitter friends have generously shared epub files to me. Once you have iBooks in your iPod, iPhone or iPad, you can easily put the ebooks in 'em directly from your email.

Right now, I am excited to read:

  1. Something Borrowed
  2. Something Blue
  3. Mr. Maybe
  4. Swimming Pool Sunday
  5. The Tennis Party
  6. Baby Proof
  7. Heart of the Matter
  8. Slightly Engaged
  9. Slightly Married
  10. Slightly Settled
  11. Slightly Single
and so much more!!! I really don't know which one to read first. I started with something borrowed because there's a movie out based on the book and I want to watch it too.

Any suggestions on what to read next???

I am swamped with work it is craaaazzzzy!

House life is crazy since we have a new nanny. If the domestic life is crazy, work life gets pushed back. So, whenever I am in the office, it feels like I am always rushing to meet deadlines and deal with the stacks of paper work and documentation in my incoming tray.

Ho-hum.

The reason why I am not breaking down and crying just yet is because I am still on a high after the purchase of our very first brand new car. For a young couple like us, this is a big thing. We have invested on a lot as well. The next project is a house. Then after that, maybe try investing in gold, silver or coins. Right now, we have a single silver coin which is probably worth a bit of money. My MIL gave it to us as a gift. I've been toying about the idea of investing on American silver eagles. They have a face value of one dollar and usually trade at a percentage above spot silver price. I've read in their site that they offer Uncirculated Silver Eagles in singles as well as rolls as well as Single Proof Silver Eagles. Will definitely read up on this. In my thinking, we should invest in these stuff than on unnecessary material things.

Dreams Do Come True

When I decided that I liked a black car (for my gift from Hubby - how lucky could I get???), most discouraged me and gave me these cons:
  • Scratches are visible.
  • Dust is highly visible.
  • You might get bumped (in the parking lot or anywhere) because dark = lower visibility
  • higher insurance rates than other colored cars!!!
It got me thinking, should I just get the silver or white car? My first love is the black, sleek car and I was going to name her Ebony...

Pros: I love the color.
Cons: Those listed above.

Seems like an obvious answer, right? Well..I got this.

Ow, yeah. I went with my first love. This is my car and the choice of its color boils down to what I like and that is black. ^^

I've been reading a lot about cars, insurance and the likes lately. It is amazing how much information there is out there. For example, I didn't know that a rock or foreign object that may hit and damage your windshield isn't warrantable? There are more info out there and if you're interested in purchasing your very first car, it is advisable to read them. If you are an RV owner, check out 5th wheel insurance because they solely have RVers in mind.

Nanny Horror Stories

We lost 2 household help in 1 day.

Good riddance to bad karma, I'd like to day. Of course, we are pissed and all but hey, there's nothing we can do about it anymore. As much as I want to lash out and rant and vent about it, it wouldn't bring back the time that they were still sane and honest.

Imagine this!!!

Maid 1/Yaya - Fell for a married guy who worked here as a painter. Mom caught them locked in the room together!!!! ;((
Maid 2/Cook - Let someone stay in the house w/o telling us! Their maids quarter is outside the main house so we didn't notice up until Mom barged into their room once.

Plus!! Both go out at night (when we're all upstairs) and come home dawn. We found out because the subdivision guard asked us about it.

Better let go. More lies from them, what good can that do?

But you know what? God took away 2 and right now we have 3 replacements. God is good. Praying that we these 3 are sane please ^^

Get One.

Hubby is scouting around for a good term life insurance. Since he is still in Norway, he checks out sites like Wholesale Insurance and compare rates. While I have my own insurance, I don't really understand how it works. Hubby was asking me a lot of questions which I don't know the answer to. I told Hubby to decide when he can talk to my Aunt whose an insurance agent. After all, he will be back in the PI in 2 months and it is better to clarify the terms before agreeing to a policy. Being insured it important especially for him because he is the head of the family with 2 kids whose dependent on him. I don't know why we've waited this long before getting insurance for him. I am sure if he got it a few years back, it would have been cheaper.

So there, lesson learned. Insurance shouldn't be delayed.

Stuck In Our Room

We went to the beach last weekend and it was a disaster. It rained the whole time. ;( My boys had the chance to stroll the beach at around 5PM when the rains stopped. We didn't take a dip anymore because it was too cold. Good thing they enjoyed the walk, at least, they got preoccupied until dinner time. So we stayed in our rooms most of the time, this was one of those times where I wished we had an xbox slim and play games the whole time. I read about the xbox kinect and it sounds awesome - it is a completely wireless gaming experience. Imagine doing ZUMBA in it! I don't even need to go to the gym for a whole fitness experience.

Look at my boys faces! Effects of boredom.

We are scheduled for another beach trip in 2 weeks. I hope the weather cooperates.

One week ago, I received flowers from Hubby for my birthday. That was the very first time I received flowers from him in all the time we're together. Thanks Chi, I really loved it. They are beginning to wilt right now and I missing him more and more. In 2 months we will see each other. We will be together for 3 weeks only and we'll make sure to spend as much time with each other as much as possible!:)
