Oceans Apart

Monday, November 21, 2011

All my closest friends are leaving.

Some are already settled all over the globe, in the States, in Singapore even in Dubai. Then a chunk of them (nurses!) decided to settle in Canada possibly next year. It's not that I am not happy for them, I am, I even gave them scrubs for Christmas, it wasn't Marcus scrub tops but it looked okay - anyway, it just feels lonely being left behind. Of course, we have plans of migrating to Norway ourselves however, that still means we are all, literally, oceans apart.

Good thing there's internet, skype, Facebook, Viber and all the other media out there to get in touch. The world may be vast but we're all connected and I guess, since we are all growing and finding our place in this world, I can't stop the changes happening around me.

Headache.

No time for rest and relaxation.

This week, it's me and my brother whose in charge of the household and office. My elder sister is in Korea and our parents are in Phuket.

Why my headache decided that it's best to start today is beyond me. I've been shrugging the feeling off just to get through the day. Good thing there's something to look forward to tonight. A dinner for a cause and the walking dead. What a combination.

Lashes

When I was a little girl, my mom trimmed my sister's and my eyelashes. She once heard that trimming would make it grow out nicely. Fortunately for me, that was the case. Unfortunately for my sister, it wasn't. Now she would rely on eyelash extensions whenever there's a major event. I don't think she has heard of an eyelash growth product but there is and it might help her cause. It's a major frustration for her and the reason why she seldom puts on mascara. My kids have inherited my long lashes. I don't think they would really need it since they are boys and they won't care like girls. But still, I love looking into my sons eyes and see beautiful long lashes. Look at my one year old. Such beautiful eyes, they are truly a window to the soul.

FFI

And...here we go!

1. As you can see clearly, my diet isn't working.

2. I really wish Hubby was home soon!

3. I love to buy a lot of things. I am a girl after all. If I have to enumerate it all here it won't fit, so if you're a girl and Forever 21 just opened up shop in your City then you'd also love to buy a LOT. I mean - from accessories to fur-lined jackets. .

4. I have already started buying people's christmas gift(s).

5. What's up with the craziness over Breaking Dawn?

6. Information is in the tip of our fingertips.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to having dinner with my mommy friends, tomorrow my plans include going to gymboree as usual and Sunday, I want to rest!

Getting A Job

Friday, November 11, 2011

Just a quick thing before everyone dashes off to their respective planned weekends, if you are thinking about getting a job, something new perhaps or something you are a professional at, check out Datawarehouse Designer Jobs. You can actually click and choose the job openings depending on your location. A friend who had just landed a job in SG is already thinking about moving! She has submitted her CV to other agencies because she's not that happy with her current employer. I once thought that when getting a job, you wage is the most important and crucial thing. When you talk to someone who has a job, the pay is actually just secondary really. Job fulfillment and security is more important. When you are happy with what you are doing, you are prone to work hard and in turn excel. This will learn to a promotion and thus giving you both the satisaction of earning well and loving your job.

Just my 2 cents for all those graduating students out there. Don't forget to follow your passion and work for youself.

Taking A 30 Sec Break

I really thought I can take it easy today, afterall, it is a Friday!

Boy, was I wrong =( Been working since 730AM with minimum breaks so finish whatever it is I need to finish before the weekend. Since the boys and I have a childrens party to go to this 3PM, I can't afford to dilly-dally this time.

I hate who I become when I am extremely busy. I can be a mega b*tch who'd snap at anyone for just looking at me. I guess, being crabby is the downside when dieting. The absence of food in the tummy makes me feel aweful!!!! On the opposite note, the absence of a tummy makes my body look fab. So its a 50-50 situation.

Oh well. Back to work. My 30 seconds is up.

3rd Time's a Charm

Monday, November 7, 2011

Hub was went home from Norway last July - so a few weeks after her left, people started speculating that I might be pregnant.

Of course, it it would happen, we would welcome the news with open arms but it didn't. So those birth announcements are taking a backseat for now. After all, my youngest is only 2 - still a baby in all our eyes, so there's no rush for a 3rd one. But I do hope and pray for a baby girl before I turn 30, so that's in 2 years.

Before that, we hope to have our own house. We've been looking around for that perfect dream house for a year already. We've been undecided because there's a chance we might just have to relocate to Norway to be with Hubby so buying a house is unecessary if that is the case. However, we're having second thoughts on that option since a few of Hubby's friends whose family have migrated there regreted the decision and ended up coming back to the Philippines. You see, culturaly it is very different there. Plus the weather is almost always cold! If you've lived in a tropical country for most of your life, this might be a problem.

So there. Just my thoughts on a lazy, holiday Monday morning.

Cooler Nights

Friday, November 4, 2011

Time to bring out the jackets, boots and even dare I say - heated blankets? Yup, seems like Christmas came early in this part of the world where the weather has been constantly dropping. Of course, its not like Europe where its zero degrees but 23 in Cebu is pretty cool compared to the 30's we've experienced a few weeks back. We rarely turn the aircon on anymore during bedtime and I am secretly relieved for our electric bill! I really wish this will last up until January - perfect time for Hubby's homecoming, it will be a cool, cuddly vacation for sure. =)
