New Place, New People!

I love Norway I really do, I just really have to get used to the weather. It is always wet, raining and cold. I have't tried winter yet and as far as I am concerned it is already freezing right now. I don't even want to imagine how it will be like later on. If you live here, you should invest in the proper attire. Rubber boots. Winter shoes, water proof jackets, hats, scarf and even mittens on those mornings where is drops to 0 degrees Celsius. Also it is important to keep your skin moisturized. Because of the cold weather the skin gets to be so dry and flaky. I've had dry skin problem back in the Philippines, naturally, it worsened here in Norway. Apart from the weather, I don't have any problem here so far. The people are very nice. The system works. It is easy to go around to new places because the maps are accurate. Their public transport system is also easy to learn. Many of the Norwegians know English so it is okay also. However, it is important to know the language since we are living here so that would take a bit of time. But it is an enjoyable experience so far.

Hi Vannie,

Glad Norway is treating you and your family well :) and that you are all together now.

It gets easier in time :) Before you know it you are a fluent Norweigan speaker.

Have you been to Aker Brygge downtown? Lovely tourist spot as I remember it - but am sure you would have better hole in the wall secret local specials now! Post about some of your discoveries/places when you can, I would love to read about them.

Take care,
Marie
